Tenterden Greens

With the support of family,  and friends Tenterden Greens initially started off as a home based micro-green business in November 2023 and quickly expanded to what it is today.

After attending several local markets with only micro-green products we were encouraged by Eric, a fellow stall holder who runs Hythe Farmers Market, to expand our product range to supply fruit and veg . Our journey since January 2024 has been incredible, and has certainly flown by.

We met Sandra and Brian (My Farmers Market) and we were offered the opportunity to attend Hall Place Bexley and Chislehurst Farmers Markets which in turn has drawn us to find local growers encouraging us to learn from their knowledge and what fruit and veg is in season and wow is there a lot to learn as well as inspired us to start our very own growing plot.

We are currently turning 1.5 acres into a sustainable grow space and look forward to producing our own naturally grown products to take to markets.

Over the last year we have developed Tenterden Greens to work closely with local growers and producers to continue to bring field fresh products to customers. Over the next few months we plan to expand our grow area as well as our connections and will continue on our crazy new journey.

After some difficult decisions we feel we have now found the right markets for us and over the course of 4 weeks we can be found at the following markets: Hythe, Southborough, Rye, Lyminge, Chislehurst and Hall Place Bexley Farmers Market, as well as offering home deliveries to our amazing customers.

We have made amazing connections with other small local businesses leading to unique partnerships for seasonal specials, as well as continuously meeting new customers. We look forward to continue developing this and bringing farm fresh products to your doorsteps.

Thank you to all of you for your continued support on our journey and we look forward to seeing you all at the markets

From all of us here at Tenterden Greens

Thanks for doing that.

St Apple Hurst Roast started in December 2015 attending one market a month.

They started with 3 types of coffees and now sell a selection of 8 coffees from all over world. All of the coffee is roasted in Kent.

St Apple Hurst Roast use other local small businesses to make our coffee products like their chocolate coffee and fudge using their signature blend of Kentish Dragon.

They have also commissioned a small studio potter to make pottery for the hand made drippers. So each hand made dripper is unique.

St Apple Hurst Roast change the origin of 4 of their coffees twice a year. So there is a variety of choice throughout the year.

St Apple Hurst Roast currently attend the Farmers Markets at Hall Place Bexley on the 1st Sunday of the month and West Malling Farmers Market on the 4th Sunday of the month.

Whitegates Farm and Nursery

Whitegates Farm and Nursery have supported our farmers markets almost since day 1 soon after Rochester Farmers Market started. They started out with mainly apples and plants, and gradually over the years a whole host of weird and wonderful berries were planted and the vegetable production has been geared around the markets they attend.

For the first 4 years Mike who you now generally see on the stall used to help out at the occasional market with Saul attending most of the markets.  In 2003 Mike had to step in for a few months and has been doing the bulk of them since.

Whitegates Farm moved to their current 63 acre site in the mid 90’s.  The small nursery started in 1995.  The farm is located near Rainham/Gillingham Kent and their stall including fruit and vegetables that they have grown themselves and can range from gooseberries, asparagus, apples through to brussel sprouts, peas and beetroot.
